Frank Swinson

Frank and Laucita Swinson
Frank and his wife, Laucita, with two young children moved to Auburn in 1960 so Frank could teach and do research in Auburn’s Mechanical Engineering Department. Frank’s formal education includes degrees from The Rice Institute, Texas Technological College, Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas, and the Univeristy of Illinios. After retiring from AU in 1989, the Swinsons moved to Tennessee so Frank could do research with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. In 1998 after a second retirement, the Swinsons returned to Auburn. They have three children; Stephen, Kimbra Dean, and Michael, and have seven grandchildren. Frank’s hobbies including driving “Ms. Laucita”, wood working, and keeping his first automobile, a 1923 Model – T, running.
